A few days after the Supreme Court said the petition opposed the Rohingyas as “the idea of fantasy” by the Indian government, a group of six members formed human rights lawyers and social workers who gathered to seek justice for refugees.
The panel discussion was conducted based on Rohingya refugees living in the national capital, saying that their family members were taken over from the camp and were deported overnight to the shore near the Indian-Manma border, leaving only international waters and life jackets. After that, the Supreme Court bench heard a petition from Rohingya refugees, demanding the government to deport them, rejecting their request.

Human rights lawyer Prashant Bhushan, Colin Gonsalves and social activist Harsh Mander participated in the panel with journalist Pamela Philipose, human rights activist Rita Manchanda and social worker Priyali Sur.
During the discussion, the panelists conducted research on various case studies and media reports, including one Hindu About the topic.
“Inhumane” deportation
Mr. Bushan delivered a speech in the group, introducing a case study of families affected by “inhumane” deportation. “India follows the deportation process for Rohingya refugees not only violates international law but also its own constitution,” he said. The senior lawyer added that deportation of refugees to a country that has genocide against them violates the constitutive values of the right to life and the international genocide Convention.
Ms Sur, a social worker running the Azaadi Project, an organization that works for female survivors of war and conflict, said that while it is important to question how Rohingya refugees are left in the water, it is equally important to question the way they are treated at home. “The name of the community has become taboo; detention has been there for many years, the child is separated from the parents, and the situation in the detention center is inhumane.”
