PAR Approval Act Establishes Tribhuvan Sahkari University for Partner Departments

New Delhi, on April 1 (PTI) Parliament approved a bill to establish the “Tribhuvan Sahkari University” in Anand, Gujarat with the aim of creating qualified human resources for the cooperative society, and Rajya Sabha paid tribute to him on Tuesday.
The university is named after Tribhuvandas Kishibhai Patel, one of the pioneers of the Indian cooperative movement and has set a role in the foundations of Amul.
The bill was passed in Lok Sabha on March 26, 2025.
Rajya Sabha voted to pass the bill on Tuesday with a voice. Up to 28 members participated in the debate on the House bill.
Cooperating Minister of State Murlidhar Mohol said more than 50% of the population is engaged in agriculture and that 800,000 institutions are associated with 300 million people.
Mohall said it would be the first university to work with and meet the needs of participating in the industry and creating the human capacity of skilled professionals.
The proposed university will also address long-term issues in capacity-building for employees and board members in a pan-Indian and centralized manner.
The bill states that it is essential to ensure that different categories of work are provided for different categories of work by establishing a national university, including management, supervision, administration, technology and operations, to provide professionally qualified human resources for different categories of work, and to establish a comprehensive, comprehensive and standardized structure for education, training and research.
The “Tribhuvan” Cooperative University Bill, 2025, aims to provide education and training in the cooperative sector through Tribhuvan Cooperative University, build youth capacity, establish centres of excellence offering degree programs, distance education, and e-learning courses, and train approximately 8,00,000 individuals annually, while creating sector-specific ‘Schools of Excellence’ in areas like dairy and fisheries.
“Tribhuvan” Sahkari University will ensure a stable HR supply program, unify 284 cooperative training institutions in India, enhance the capacity of existing centers, increase national long-term cooperative curriculum, and establish a comprehensive education and integrated system in cooperative sectors.
