Parks, playgrounds, open spaces and other properties in Hyderabad that encroach on GHMC

A survey to be conducted by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is aiming to reveal the extent of its encroachment in open spaces, playgrounds, parks and other properties throughout the city. Welfare associations for colonial residents build community halls and senior centers in several locations. Welfare associations for colonial residents have encroached on major parts of the open space.

As a first step in mapping its assets in the city, GHMC issued a “Request for Proposal” (RFP) on Wednesday (April 9, 2025) to investigate its assets in real estate in the LB Nagar and Kukatpally areas.

Real estate assets, including layouts of open spaces, parks, playgrounds, municipal markets, shops, office buildings, community halls, municipal land, slaughterhouses, garbage dumps must be investigated, digitalized and geo-referenced, and RFP files are specified.

Work

The scope of work includes preparing an overview of each real estate property attribute, inventory preparation and georeference, in addition to developing GIS/software applications to monitor the development of attributes.

Selected companies should use the Difference GP to conduct detailed physical surveys to collect boundary measurements and scope of the property, physical characteristics of the property, construction footprints within the property, and surrounding characteristics such as adjacent roads, utility lines, buildings, buildings, etc.

Coordinates for each corner

Real-world coordinates of each corner of the property should be collected and detailed plans should be prepared with boundary measurements and ranges of 1:500. According to the RFP, photographs should be taken for properties covering the front, sides and interior.

Details are part of the investigation

Details such as the layout according to the layout and the ground, number of doors, places, villages, mandal and area names, use of buildings, building area, encroachment of open spaces, nature of encroachment, etc. should be collected as part of the investigation.

After georeferenced this property, a unique ID should be generated for each property. A “geography-enabled” mobile application that is integrated with the Basic Graph or Google Map should be designed to enable the collection of attributes. The document says the start date of bid submission is April 10, the deadline is April 29.
