Pastor Assam says people of other faiths pray for me

A pastor in the eastern Golagat region of Assam was arrested for his magical recovery and said he believed in the “power” of the Indian Constitution to achieve justice.

The first information report against him was presented at a police station in Dergaon, about 280 and 22 kilometers east of his hometown Guwahati.

“When I volunteered to adopt Christianity as an adult, why did I tempt people to convert through magical practices?” he asked.

Mr. Bao Yang said when he was born a Hindus, and he became a Christian in 2006 after watching some performances by telecommunications or television missionaries.

He said: “I faced a lot of resistance at home, but my parents were finding out that my relationship with the church made me better with a positive attitude. They became Christians six years later.”

“Pray only”

Mr. Bhuyan denied using magic or tricks to brainwash people.

He said: “I am neither God nor a doctor to heal anyone. People come to me for prayer requests.

He said: “Some people let me know that praying works for them. I feel good and keep praying for others. If it’s a crime, then that’s it.”

Mr. Buyan said his family, including his wife and daughter, was traumatized by the arrest. He said: “I assure them that my faith in Christ and the Indian Constitution will see me.”

Hopefully he will be the first and last person to be booked under the Assam Treatment (Practice Prevention of Evil) Act, Mr Buian stressed the need for careful implementation of the law to avoid abuse.

He said: “I was wrongly accused of converting, and the court’s judgment made it clear. However, I have no intention of discomfort with the complainant, because it would go against everything I absorbed.”
