Ganges Hospital designated as GCOE in Trauma, Arthroscopy, Arthroscopy

Coimbatore-based Ganga Hospital and Health Care Majors Johnson and Johnson Medtech signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, which designated it as the Global Centre of Excellence (GCOE) (GCOE) for trauma, replacement and arthroscopy for training term surgeons to train term surgeons.
This is the first GCOE in the world to perform trauma surgery, said S. Rajasekaran, chairman of the Orthopedics, Trauma and Spine Surgery Department of Ganges Hospital. He added that the hospital was selected as a GCOE of various factors, including the number of trauma performed, joint replacement and arthroscopy and the expertise of its professionals.
According to the hospital, the partnership will provide a platform for surgeons at all stages of their careers that provide training and mentorship. It will cover the basic surgical skills of very advanced robotic joint replacement surgery. Up to 100 surgeons from the Asia-Pacific region, including Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Thailand, will receive training in the program every year.
