People allegedly shouting “Sindabad, Pakistan” lynched in Mangalore; 15 people were arrested against 19

Police in Mangrol arrested 15 men and registered FIR against 19 people after a 38-year-old man in Kudupu was lynched on Sunday in Kudupu. The victim was reportedly suspected of being beaten to death from Pulplally in the Wenard district of Kerala and was reportedly beaten to death near the Bhatra Kallurti temple at about 3 pm. Police said his body was recovered at around 5.30 p.m. the next night. The deceased’s relative left Mangalore late Tuesday to confirm his identity.
“Some people gathered together to beat him. The victim died later,” Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara told reporters on Tuesday. He confirmed that the man was beaten after allegedly put forward a pro-Pakistan slogan during the game.
Mangaluru Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal said the incident began with a dispute between the man and an automatic Mokeshaw driver identified as Sachin. “Sachin hit him first. He quickly joined the other people who used sticks and kicked the victims multiple times,” Agraval said.

“There are reports that the man has mental health problems and is often away from his hometown,” a senior police officer said. The family was originally from Malappuram and already lives in Pulplally. Investigation is underway and police have not ruled out further arrests.(Input with TOI)
