Patna: A Hyderabad-bound air passenger was arrested at Patna Airport after two on-site cartridges were recovered from his luggage during a security check, police said Friday. A senior official said the arrested person had been identified as Mohd Rashid, a resident of Simri Bakhtiyarpur of Saharsa, Bihar.

He arrived at Patna Airport on Wednesday and boarded a flight to Hyderabad.

Santosh Kumar, a House official at the Airport Police Department, said security officers found two real-time cartridges in his suitcase Wednesday night during the scan. He was handed over to the airport police because he was unable to provide satisfactory reasons for carrying the cartridge.

Sho said that during the police interrogation, Rashid “was unable to give a satisfactory response to our questions and expressed ignorance of the cartridge’s presence in his luggage. He said he was later arrested and sent to judicial custody on Thursday, adding that further investigations are underway.
