U.S. President Donald Trump responded to reports of Indian missile strikes in Pakistan on Wednesday, noting that the development is expected, adding: “I hope it will end soon.”

“We just heard of it when we walked through the oval gate. I think people know that something happens to people based on a little bit of the past. They've been fighting for a long time. They've been fighting for decades. Actually, actually, if you want it to end soon.

The U.S. State Department also resolved the situation, but refused any immediate assessment. “We know these reports, but we have not evaluated them at this time. This is still a growing situation and we are closely monitoring the development,” a spokesperson said in a statement to ANI.

Following the air strike, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval spoke to the U.S. National Security Agency and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to update his measures, according to a statement from the Indian Embassy Washington, DC.

The Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor on Wednesday, launching precise strikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and POK. The operation came days after the Pahargan terrorist attack claimed the lives of 25 Indian civilians and a Nepali national.

According to an official statement from the Indian Army, Operation Sindor targets nine specific locations related to the orchestration and planning of cross-border terrorist attacks.
