Many protested Saturday in the WAQF (Amendment) Act (ACT) protests held by Idgah Maidan of Tilak Nagar in Mysuru.
Protesters hosted a black band on their arms and displayed placards at the demonstrations organized under the All India Muslim Private Law Commission (AIMPLB) to oppose the changes brought about by the WAQF Act 2013 conducted by the central government led by the BJP.
The placards carry slogans like “Stop politicizing WAQF,” “We reject WAQF (Amendment) Act” and “Save Our Constitution.”
Protesters also observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the tragic terrorist attacks in Jamu and Pahargam in Kashmir.
When some participants held placards to condemn Pahalgam's terrorism, Dais's banner read: “We condemn terrorism and the brutal killings in Kashmir”.

Participants also read the preamble to the Indian Constitution and promised to protect India's unity with slogans such as “Jai Hind”, “Jai Bhim” and “Jai Samvidhan”.
The gatherings were addressed by religious leaders who opposed any changes to the WAQF Act.
