Phonepe system faces interruption due to technical failure

New Delhi: Phonepe, the country’s largest fintech company, reported a technical failure in its system, causing transactions to fail on its platform. Phonepe co-founder Rahul Chari said PhonePe’s company has launched active DR Drills, with cybersecurity measures improved for its network firewalls.

“Tonight, 100% of our traffic in all our services was delivered through a new data center. Unfortunately, the peak traffic on Monday night exposed a network capacity shortage, so the transaction started to fail.

“We have now rebalanced traffic at other sites and are seeing recovery. We apologize for this. We promise to accept these learnings and further strengthen our system,” he said.

According to Digital Services Tecage Trucker Platform Down detector, the report began around 6 p.m. and peaked around Part 7.

Several users across the country encountered transaction failures in UPI transactions, but they confused them as a failure in the UPI system.

The UPI system encountered three interruptions earlier between March 26 and April 12
