Pope Francis maintains a message of sympathy, inclusion and social justice: Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan paid a heartfelt tribute to Pope Francis, recognizing his firm advocacy for sympathy, inclusion and a strong commitment to social justice.
The Chief Minister highlighted Pope Francis’ solidarity with marginalized communities, friendly relations with followers of other religions and a sharp criticism of global capitalism. He pointed out that Pope Francis has always advocated the rights and marginalization of the poor.
He stressed that the main responsibility of the church is to serve homeless, needy and abandoned members of society. Pope Francis’s life experience gave him a deep understanding of inequality and poverty.
He asserted that the world must be resisted with “living compassion.” Throughout the ministry, he went to great lengths to seek the right to marginalize individuals and tried to elevate the church to the level of inclusion for all.
Pope Francis explicitly declared that sexual orientation should not be a measure of human dignity, a position that resonated with many, including those who were away from the church. The Chief Minister said he also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, sympathize with their sufferings, and advocated mutual peace and understanding in the region.
Vijayan noted that Pope Francis led efforts to promote love and cooperation among various religious groups. He recognizes the inherent dignity of everyone and calls on the world to unite poverty, environmental degradation and climate change, stressing that religious differences should not hinder such efforts. The Pope believes that dialogue and coexistence between religions is crucial to achieving world peace.
Furthermore, Pope Francis took a critical stance on capitalism, believing that it was the root cause of inequality and poverty. He said he called for an economic system that prioritizes human welfare and dignity over profits.
In his tribute, Pinarayi Vijayan said that Pope Francis represents a world rooted in justice, peace and equality, and treats the compassionate heart unremittingly. “We are very sad about Pope Francis’ death,” he said.
