“Tonight was not a good night for PNM, but it could be a good night for the TT people,” he said. “The situation was very good in the process and the result has come now, but from the purpose of our coming to Balisier House, we seem to have lost the election.”
He admitted defeat in the election, saying: “We admitted defeat on election night, but tomorrow is another day. We admitted in 1986, we admitted in 1995, we admitted in 2010, so at this 70-year-old party, sometimes you win, sometimes you don’t.”
He said they had made a comeback from one seat, adding: “10 to 12 seats don’t count us”. Rowley called the election results surprising, adding that PNM will start the next election campaign in the next five years.
