US State Department spokesman Tammy Bruce said Prime Minister Narendra Modi received full support from the Trump administration, adding that they had been communicating with the Indian and Pakistani governments following the Pahargam terrorist attack.

Bruce said at a press conference on Friday that the United States is closely monitoring the situation.

A State Department spokesman quoted a conversation between U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday with Foreign Minister Jaishankar and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

“We are closely monitoring. Yesterday, the secretary spoke with Foreign Minister Jaishankar and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Donald Trump made a statement to Prime Minister Modi last week that the U.S. opposition to terrorism against India has been strong and Prime Minister Modi has received all our support.”

She added: “The Secretary encouraged both countries to work to seek a responsible solution that maintains responsible resolutions to maintain long-term peace and regional stability in South Asia. As I mentioned, we continue to maintain contact with the governments of both countries.”

Asked if we noticed the call for downgrade, Bruce said: “We demand that both parties have responsible resolutions. I don't have any other details to give you.”

This is because, after the brutal attacks in Pahargam on April 22, ceasefire violations along Pakistan along the Line of Control (LOC) in Jamu and Kashmir, where terrorists sponsored them killed 26 people, mainly tourists and mainly many others injured.

The government gives the armed forces complete freedom to decide on their response to the Pahargan terrorist attack. The Indian army effectively responded to the unprovoked small arms that the Pakistani army fired in LOC.

Officials said the Army quickly responded to the ceasefire violation in the evening of April 27-28 in Kupwara and Jammu and Poonch areas in Kashmir.

According to officials, Indian troops also responded effectively to Pakistani troops shooting along the LOC in the area opposite the Tutmari Gali and Rampur departments from April 26 to 27.
