PM Modi may visit Bihar again on May 4

Prime Minister Narendra Modi may visit Bihar again in a poll for the second time on May 4. Mr. Modi announced on April 24 in Jhanjharpur, Madubani region that the people behind the Pahargam terrorist attacks were “more than they imagined”. He also visited Bhagalpur in the state on February 24 and spoke at a public rally.

On May 4, Mr. Modi plans to hold the 2025 Khelo India Youth Games at Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna. State BJP leaders said the prime minister will open several developments during his one-day visit.
About 10,000 athletes and technicians from all over the country will participate in 28 disciplines in the sporting events held in five locations – Patna, Gaya, Rajgir, Bhagalpur and Begusarai. Shooting, racing cycling and gymnastics competitions will be held in Delhi. Patliputra Sports Complex has set up a central command and control center, which will serve as the operation center for the Olympics.

Prior to Mr. Modi’s possible visit on May 4, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited the Patliputra Sports Complex on Sunday (27 April) to review the preparations for the mega event. Bihar Sports Director and CEO Raveendran Sankaran accompanied him along with other officials.
Earlier, on April 24, two days after the Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jamu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister visited Jhanjharpur in Madhubani area of North Bihar. At an event, he vowed that “terrorists and their supporters will be imagined by their imagination,” the party cheered, “Modi…Modi…”.

‘No more turnaround’
During the Madhubani event, Mr Nitish Kumar praised the Prime Minister’s contribution to the development of Bihar, while claiming that his party colleague and trade union minister Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh is the reason his party Janata Dal (United) has committed political opposition to the BJP in the past. He said: “Bihar is developing rapidly under your leadership (Mr. Modi)” and promised that his party would not make any political turnaround again.
Meanwhile, the state BJP leaders said that party workers and leaders were asked to make the prime minister’s upcoming day visit “a huge success.” BJP senior leader and deputy CM Samrat Choudhary said that in addition to sporting events, Mr. Modi may also open several development projects. It can also be said that the Prime Minister will open the Simaria Bridge on the Ganges and Bakhtiyapur National Highway.

The Prime Minister may again visit the states polled on May 30. There has been no decision yet “but finalization may be made in the state after visiting the state on May 4”, a senior BJP leader in the state said, preferring to be anonymous. However, party insiders say the Prime Minister’s plan on May 30 could be held in the Sahabad region bordering eastern Uttar Pradesh or Aurangabad, where the BJP “want to consolidate its support base”.
State parliamentary elections will be held in Bihar from October to November this year, while ruling NDA leaders claim they can win 225 seats in the state parliament in total.
