PM Modi pays tribute to Jallianwala Bagh Holocaust victims

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to those who died in the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre on Sunday (April 13, 2025), saying “their tenacious spirit will always be remembered for generations to come.”

Hundreds of people peacefully protested against the act of Rorat, granting the colonial government the power of repression, were shot dead by the British without any provocation, on Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar in 1919.
PM Modi said in an article on X: “We pay tribute to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh. Their tenacious spirit will always be remembered for generations to come.”
“This is indeed a dark chapter in our country’s history. Their sacrifice became a major turning point in India’s freedom struggle,” he said.
