Hyderabad: At a high-level meeting on May 28, the Polavaram project in Andhra Pradesh may be discussed.
Once the Polavaram project began seizing water, Telangana had been attracting attention on the flooding of the Godavari River. It has submitted these concerns to the notification of Jal Shakti Ministry and the Central Water Commission. Similar concerns were raised in Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
The project envisions the transfer of 80 TMC feet of water from Godavari to the Krishna River and share water between the states in the Godavari water dispute, including Maharashtra and Karnataka. Chhattisgarh and Odisha should be used as the water share in the project at a rate of 1.5 TMC ft and 5 TMC ft.
