PM Modi visits Varanasi, Lulanasi, the lay foundation for the Rs 388 billion project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Friday (11 April 2025), where he will address the public gatherings and opening ceremony and provide the foundation for 44 projects worth Rs 38.8 million.

According to Varanasi zoning commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma, the projects to be opened include plans for rural development, including 130 drinking water projects, 100 new Anganwadi centres, 356 libraries, Polytechnic College in Pindra, Polytechnic College in Pindra and a government degree college.

“The Prime Minister will also open a transit dormitory in police routes and police barracks in Ramnagar and four rural roads,” he said.

PM Modi focuses on urban development and will open projects on Shastri Ghat and Samne Ghat, as well as various beautification projects conducted by the Railway and Varanasi Development Authority (VDA).

Among the projects that laid the foundation stone, Rs 25 is worth Rs 225 billion, with the focus on strengthening the city’s power infrastructure. This includes the construction of 15 new substations, the installation of new transformers and the laying of new power lines of 1,500 kilometers.

A new 220 kV substation will also appear near Chaukaghat, aiming to provide 24-hour uninterrupted power supply.

Mr Sharma said infrastructure projects related to the airport were also on the agenda, including paving tunnels for its expanded construction.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation for three new overpasses as well as various road expansion plans and school renovation work as well as two stadiums at Shibu and UP University.

PM Modi will also hold a public meeting in Mehndiganj in Rohaniya.

“In light of the heat and traffic in the summer, Prime Minister Modi’s event will be held on the ring road outside the city limits to ensure easy access to rural populations. The event will be held in the morning and allow attendees to return home by the afternoon,” he said.

Police Commissioner Mohit Agrawal and ADG Security Raghuveer Lal learned during a pre-trial process at Cantt camp that six SPs, another eight SPS, 33 COS and approximately 4,000 personnel will be deployed for the Prime Minister’s security.

Surveillance via CCTV and drone cameras has been ensured for rooftop deployment along VIP routes and surrounding areas.

Police officers have been instructed to avoid using their cell phones at duty points and report completely uniformly as their ID card and duty card. Strictly adhere to the safety protocols of the PM and will use ropes to control the crowd.
