Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Water and Sewage Treatment Commission (HMWS&SB) seized 32 motors and punished 38 consumers in all departments to illegally connect the motor to the water pipes, thus destroying the supply of “motor-free electric Tap” drives.

Ashok Reddy, managing director of HMWS&SB, led his team at SR Nagar to conduct an inspection. “The drive will last for the next 60 days. OBC seeks fair leadership role

Hyderabad:According to the BC Intellectuals Forum (BCIF), the backward class (BC) community accounts for 56.33% of the population of Telangana, 56.33% of the population occupied only one of the nine chair positions of the Regional Cooperative Central (DCC) Bank, and is not represented in the Chief Minister’s Office. These figures were shared at a press conference in Hyderabad, demonstrating the ongoing “OBC underrepresentation” in key state-level nomination positions.

The forum includes retired officials, academics, student leaders and representatives of the British Columbia organization. Speakers expressed concern about the mismatch between the weight of the community’s population and its presence in the administrative structure.

BCIF further stated that of the 56 chairmen appointed by the state-owned company, 23 belong to the Reddy community. Only 11 are from OBC backgrounds, with most of the companies associated with occupations of traditional caste such as handlooms and toddy attacks. The remaining positions are held by individuals from other dominant caste groups.

V. Eswaraiah, former chairman of the National Lagging Commission Committee (ruling) said several qualified retired judges from the OBC community have not been appointed to the committee or committee. He added that representation in the judiciary remains limited.

BCIF Chairman T. Chiranjeevulu said many government agencies did not develop retention policies, which led to a lack of diversity in leadership. He noted that the lack of OBC in top offices such as the Chief Minister’s Office reflects structural gaps in governance.

Professor I. Tirumali, who retired from the University of Delhi, welcomed the state’s decision to conduct a caste census and proposed 42% reservations for BCS. He believes that policy measures alone are not enough to correct long-term imbalances. He called for the establishment of a social justice committee to monitor and evaluate representation.

G. Kiran Kumar, president of the All India OBC Student Association, said that if a recruitment or education notice is issued, the organization will protest without implementing 42% of the promised BC bookings.
