Following the complaint, FIR registration was conducted on Monday against unidentified staff at the Sadar Police Department Hospital.
Police said Tuesday that a hostess was allegedly sexually assaulted by a staff member on a ventilator in the ICU. Police said they are checking CCTV footage from the hospital to identify the perpetrators. The 46-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after she fell ill in a swimming pool where she was staying in the hotel where she was staying.
She said in the complaint that on April 5 she was taken to a private hospital in Gururam from where she was discharged this Sunday.
“I was using a ventilator when some hospital staff sexually assaulted me on April 6,” the complaint read.
The air hostess said that after being discharged from the hospital, she told her husband about the incident and then approached the police.
Following the complaint, FIR registration was conducted on Monday against unidentified staff at the Sadar Police Department Hospital.
A spokesman for Gurugram Police Department said: “The victim’s statement has been recorded before the magistrate of the court. The police team is checking the tapes of CCTV cameras in the hospital and will soon identify the defendant.” The spokesman added that an investigation is underway and the defendant will be arrested soon.
