Police stepped up vigil at the new bus booth in Tiruchi; seeking government approval for new stations

The Tiruchi City Police Department strengthened its promise as the city’s new integrated bus terminal is expected to become operational soon.
The police team maintained an all-weather vigil on 40 acres of premises near the busy Tiruchi-Madurai national highway.
The pickets have been released on the dock and on three nearby statues. Sources said E. Pudur police were asked to ensure the jurisdiction of the two rounds of patrols.
An outpost is expected to be placed on the new terminal soon to limit crime and maintain order. Travelers and bus movements are expected to become heavy once the new terminal is fully operational.
Sources said police have forwarded a proposal that lists mandatory requirements to establish a new police station near the new bus station.
The Tiruchi City Police Department is led by the Chief of Police. In addition to transportation, armed reserves, bans, law enforcement and other departments, there are 14 stations within its jurisdiction.
