Trump believes we have the ability to make iPhones, the White House is in the battle against China’s tariffs

According to the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States has the ability to make iPhones.

“Trump believes we have the ability to make iPhones,” Reuters quoted the White House as saying.

The remarks are amid escalation of trade tensions between Beijing and Washington.
On Monday, Trump threatened additional tariffs on China and escalated concerns that his efforts to rebalance the global economy could spark a trade war.

Trump’s warning in Truth Society after China announced it would retaliate against U.S. tariffs raised last week.

“If China does not withdraw 34% of its already long-term transaction abuse by April 8, 2025, tomorrow, then the United States will impose an additional 50% tariff on China, effective April 9,” Trump wrote. “In addition, all negotiations with China regarding their request to meet with us will be terminated!” The proposed 50% tariff will be placed in the 34% duty of all Chinese import taxes, which will take effect on Wednesday. This will also increase the tax on Chinese goods linked to fentanyl trafficking, a White House official said.

Even as the stock market continues to decline and recession concerns, Trump remains firm.
