Ponguleti said Telangana’s real estate registration will be faster.

Hyderabad: Tax Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said on Monday that the state government will implement a “slot booking and biometric system” for property registrations, aiming to provide efficient, transparent and corruption-free services to the public.

The minister held a three-hour review meeting in the Secretariat on Monday with senior officials, including stamps and registration secretary Jyothi Buddha Prakash, CCLA secretary Mandha Makarand, IT deputy secretary Bhavesh Mishra, six regional Digs and regional registrants.

During the meeting, Srinivas Reddy emphasized that the current document registration process takes 45 minutes to an hour. However, with the help of the new slot booking system, registration will be completed in just 10-15 minutes. The system’s pilot program will be launched in certain registered offices in the first week of April.

He stressed the need to modernize the subregistered office by using technology to eliminate long wait times. He said the use of artificial intelligence and chatbots will also introduce streamlined operations.

The Minister directed officials to reorganize the small registration agency based on the slot machine booking system. He further stated that the sub-register must strictly prevent the registration of prohibited property and take strict measures to prevent unauthorized transactions. To enhance monitoring, a dedicated portal similar to Bhu Bharati will be established, listing prohibited properties and linking them to the tax office.

The Minister’s warning for any violation said that even a prohibited property would be subject to strict litigation. Immediate measures will also be taken to display detailed information about such registrations for offices and stamps and registration departments.

The minister asked officials to speed up the layout of regularization program (LRS) procedures to benefit thousands of families. Instruct the district registrar to review the LRS application daily and consult with senior officials to resolve any issues rather than allowing the application to remain pending.

He noted that many applicants have been waiting for 2-3 years and stressed the importance of addressing their own dissatisfactions when complying with regulations. He also directed regional registrants to visit small registration offices weekly rather than confining themselves to offices to ensure better oversight and efficiency.
