Ponguleti warns Rythu Bandhu to claim with fraud Patadal pass

Nalgonda: Tax Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy warned on Monday that strict action will be taken against anyone holding a Pattadar Passbook without having to own land to claim Rythu Bandhu benefits.

Srinivas Reddy resolved the 2025 Bhu Bharati Act on Aswaraopet, replacing the earlier Dharani system – Srinivas Reddy said: “I noticed that some BRS leaders have fraudulently obtained Pattada (BRS) leaders to fraudulently obtain Rythu Bandhu Funds.

The minister compared Bhu Bharati with Dharani and explained that the new bill was drafted after expert consultation and comparison with other state revenue systems. He noted: “The approach with Dharani has never been finalized and Bhu Bharati’s procedures were published publicly before implementation.”

A cabinet subcommittee led by Chief Minister AA Revanth Reddy is overseeing the launch of Bhu Bharati, one of the pilot projects has been conducted in four mando languages, including Nelakondapally in Khammam district. Srinivas Reddy said land disputes in these areas are expected to be resolved by June 2.

Speaking in an Elkathurthy plan, Minister and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stressed that welfare programs under the Congressional government were distributed fairly regardless of political affiliation. He reiterated that any accomplice who finds a land record violation will face “strict discipline and legal action.”

Srinivas Reddy also criticized the BRS for “fear-mongering” over Bhu Bharati, recalling that the previous government failed to complete the Gouravelli irrigation project whose foundation stone was laid in 2017. He added that his administration has experienced the Gouravelli canals, waived farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh, provided a Rs 500 bonus per quintal of paddy, and filled 69,000 government posts in 15 months.

Regarding social justice, the Minister stressed the completion of the National Caste Census and committed to retaining 42% of the BCS for education, employment and politics. Finally, he dismissed the claims of BRS’s police barriers at its silver jubilee rally, which was attributed to a lack of public support, rather than any official intervention.
