Ripple co-founder Prasanna Sankar is accused of seeking escorts to promote an open marriage. Wife reveals new details

Ripple co-founder Prasanna Sankar and his wife Dhivya Sashidhar are trapped in public, involving chaotic disputes about infidelity, abuse, open marriage and tax evasion claims.

Wife says in explosive court testimony

Ripple co-founder and Indian-born tech billionaire Prasanna Sankar has an estimated net worth of Forbes of $1.3 billion, and has recently made headlines on social media. Sankar claimed his wife was unfaithful during her marriage and suggested that her relationship was when he tried to raise his son. His posts quickly caught people’s attention and seemed to be in his favor.

However, Dhivya Sashidhar’s version of the story is completely different and depicts an unsettling picture of their marriage. In an interview with San Francisco Standard, she described her marriage to Sankar as “the worst nightmare of my life.” Her claims are supported by media review of court records, emails, messages and photos.

Shocking accusations of abuse and control
According to Dhivya, her husband controls her life, commits unnecessary sexual assault, and even forces her to have sex shortly after childbirth, calling it a man’s “original need.” When she refused, he allegedly threatened to seek sexual activity outside of marriage. An email from 2019 showed Sankar contacted the escorts and asked about their rates, then changed his mind and apologized to his wife. In another email on the same day, he asked her to consider building an open relationship, which she refused.

Sankar admits discussing the open relationship but claims it happened in a moment of anger and they ultimately decide to object.

Sankar also moved his family from California to Washington over the years and later moved to Singapore, where Sashidhar claimed to avoid taxes. She testified in court that the actions were not part of the family plan and deeply ruined their lives. While working remotely for Microsoft, she said Sankar would urge her to take a leave and threaten to find other women just for sex if she refuses.

Life in Singapore is getting dark
It was reportedly worse after they moved to Singapore. Dhivya lost her job, claiming that Sankar began gathering with a high social crowd and had sex with various partners, including prostitutes. She also claimed that in court he encouraged her to sleep with her friends, a suggestion that she felt scared and deeply uncomfortable.

Although Prasanna Sankar does not deny many of these claims, the case reveals a dark and complex side of a seemingly perfect relationship. A legal battle between the two is underway, with serious implications for their reputation and the custody of their sons.
