Mufti Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musliar of India paid tribute to Pope Francis, calling him a champion of humanity.

Great Mufti recalled the Pope’s valuable contributions, including his unremitting efforts to support refugees and ethnic minorities, to promote religious peace and to advocate for peace.

Mr. Kanthapuram also pointed out the Pope’s close ties to the Arab community and the Muslim world. “In his Easter message, he expressed solidarity with those suffering in Palestinians and called for support for those struggling with hunger,” he said.

Grand Mufti had personal interactions with Pope Francis at an international conference in 2019 in Abu Dhabi and Bahrain in 2022, where they built a warm and friendly bond.
