Pope Francis: Pope Conference 2025 Date: The process of electing Pope Francis’ successor may end in two to three days
The upcoming Pope Conference will be a “short”, Italy’s ANSA News Agency quoted Sarco. He suggested it could last “two, three days”.
The Cardinal pointed out that there is a “very brotherly atmosphere” and even highlights the “spirit of responsibility”.
What happened to the general congregation?
According to Vatican News, a total of 183 cardinals remained present during the general congregation Tuesday, including 124 cardinals who were electorate.
During the event, nearly 20 cardinals took the floor to express their views and opinions, concerns around the church and the main challenges it faced. Matteo Bruni, director of the Roman Church’s press office, told earlier that two cardinal voters would skip meetings on health.

Pope Conference: Date and timetable
The 267th leader of the Catholic Church is scheduled to be elected in the Pope Conference on May 7, according to an official announcement from the Vatican on Monday.
All cardinal voters will be called in the Vatican to start the process and get the next leader.
According to ABC News, Pope Benedict and Pope Francis were elected in 2005 and 2013, each meeting lasting two days.
Prior to this, Pope John Paul II was selected by the Cardinal in a three-day summary in 1978.
