Pope Leo also prays that God will give the world a “miracle of peace.” Pope Leo Xiv, born in Robert Francis Prevost, also reportedly expressed hope that peace would prevail in Ukraine and called for the release of hostages in Gaza.

The new pope was elected on May 8, replacing Pope Francis, who died on April 21. Pope Leo said from the porch of St. Peter’s Basilica.

India – Pakistan ceasefire

After several days of escalation, the operation was launched in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack after “Operation Sindor” in India – a ceasefire was announced between two nuclear-weapon neighbors. US President Donald Trump announced an understanding of the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, emphasizing that the escalation gradually stopped after a long night of mediation in the United States.
