Prime Minister Modi convinces Russian President Putin not to oppose Ukraine: Polish minister | Indian news

In a big disclosure showing India’s diplomatic figure, Deputy Foreign Minister and Secretary of State Wladyslaw Teofil Bartoszewski revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi convinced Russian President Vladimir Putin not to use nuclear tactical weapons against the Ukrainians. He said Europe hopes for permanent and sustainable peace in the region.
“We visited Warsaw to Prime Minister Modi. PM Modi did convince Putin not to use nuclear tactical weapons. We want permanent peace. We want stable and sustainable peace in Ukraine.”
Bartoszewski’s statement comes the day after PM Modi shared his position in the Russian-Ukrainian war in a podcast with Lex Fridman. Prime Minister Modi once said that the Russian-Ukraine conflict can only be resolved if the two sides join the negotiation table, and asserted that there will never be a resolution on the battlefield.
In the podcast, Prime Minister Modi said he urged the Russian war to be not a solution, while also reminding Ukraine that there is no real solution on the battlefield. “I have close ties with Russia and Ukraine. I can sit with President Putin and say it is not the time of war. I can also tell President Zelensky in a friendly way that no matter how many people in the world stand with you, the brothers will not make decisions on the battlefield,” Modi said.
Prime Minister Modi further said: “The resolution can only be achieved if both Ukraine and Russia come to the negotiating table. Ukraine may have countless discussions with its allies, but it will not produce any results. The discussion must include both sides.”
Polish Foreign Minister Wladyslaw Teofil Bartoszewski held a Raisina dialogue in India. He noted that discussions this year are expected to focus on major geopolitical shifts in reshaping the international order, ongoing conflicts and economic challenges. “I think it’s the main topic of dialogue, the change of the global order. The new president of the United States, the continuous Russian aggression in Ukraine, a new trade war, has the potential to turn the world into a different form of world based on international law. It’s a very troublesome time, it’s a very troublesome time and definitely the main topic of discussion.” (with proxy input)
