Industrial billionaire and chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani abandoned the tall title and played the role of a proud father to his daughter and Reliance retail director Isha Ambani, calling her a “boss job.”
Mukesh Ambani, the richest person in India and Asia (according to Forbes and Herren’s 2025 Billionaire List), spoke at the Express Female Entrepreneur Awards on April 5. He attended Mumbai event and participated in social media and fashion with his daughter Isha Ambani and shloka Mehta.
He spoke after Isha Ambani was awarded the “News Reporter of the Year”.

“I already have a boss at work. Isa’s performance at the conference. Sometimes, she gives me a D ranking. In fact, she’s always rating me,” a obviously proud Mukesh Ambani told the audience, who applauded the information.
He added that Isha Ambani believed that “it is no longer the most suitable survival, but the kindest survival”.

Mukesh Ambani further spoke about Ril’s role in encouraging women to take leadership positions, saying the conglomerate “pushed women to the forefront”.
He added that most group companies, hospitals, trust foundations and Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center (NMACC) have female leaders. In fact, Reliance Foundation and NMACC are led by Nita Ambani.
When Anant Goenka, executive director of the Express Group of India, asked Mukesh Ambani if she had any advice for female entrepreneurs, the billionaire encouraged a positive mindset, saying: “The most important thing is, whoever you are. You just have to go.”
