NDA wins unconfidence motion against Mayor Hari Venkata Kumari

In a significant development in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) comprising of Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Jana Sena Party (JSP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the no-confidence motion against Mayor (YSRCP) G. Hari Venkata Kumari. Prasad was held at the company’s office on Saturday (April 19, 2025).
After the meeting, Anakapalli MP CM Ramesh announced that up to 74 corporate players and Ex-Officio members voted against the mayor in a distrustful trust meeting, leading to a unanimous victory for the NDA.
Bheemunipatnam Mla Ganta Srinivasa Rao said this is the end of the “undemocratic” YSRCP rules in GVMC. He also said they will soon elect a new mayor from the NDA.
MLA, members of Congress, other political representatives and a large number of supporters have gathered in the GVMC office. In the slogans of “Jai Nda”, Jai Chandrababu and Jai Pawan Kalyan, NDA supporters were seen exploding firecrackers to celebrate the victory.
The company from TDP arrived in Visakhapatnam late at night (April 18, 2025) and was transferred to a hotel near the Jagadamba junction. The company is welcomed by MLA. On Saturday morning, all MLAs, MPs and corporate members arrived at the GVMC office for an unconfidence meeting on a special private bus.
