Pune traders threatened after ‘boycott Türkiye’ call

Mumbai: Amid calls to call Türkiye and Turkish products nationwide, a businessman from Pune was allegedly threatened by Pakistan for boycotting Turkey’s Apple. Suyog Zende (commonly known as Maketyard) of the Pune Agriculture and Agriculture Market Committee (APMC) claimed that he led a campaign to boycott Turkish Apple and he received a threatening call from Pakistan on WhatsApp. The calls contain a voice message containing abusive language against India and warn Pakistan or Türkiye not to cause any harm.

“In the voice message, they said, “You Indians can do nothing. “I want to tell them that this is just the beginning, we are descendants of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and they should know our abilities.

The development comes after fruit traders in Pune decided to boycott apples imported from Türkiye. In protest against Türkiye’s support for Pakistan during the recent tensions with India, businessmen in Pune decided to stop buying Turkish apples. Instead, they are purchasing apples from Himaal, Uttarakhand, Iran and other regions. The boycott is expected to have a significant impact on the fruit market in Pune, as Turkish apples usually result in seasonal turnover of Rs 1.2 crore.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis congratulated the businessman in APMC Pune who adopted the “national first” position by stopping the import of apples and dried fruits from Turkey in protest of his support for Pakistan. “I congratulate all the merchants who have decided to boycott the import of Turkey. At this juncture, the ‘state first’ should be our position. It is necessary to plan the killing not only to those who plan the murder in Pahargam, but also to the countries that support them. I welcome this organic civic feeling.”

In a trader who allegedly received a threat call from Pakistan, CM said traders don’t have to worry about such threats. He added: “India is a country that attacks Pakistan and destroys it. Pakistan, on the other hand, will not harm us. There is no need to drop empty threatening prey. The government will provide protection and everyone should remain firm in the “National Phase 1.”

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena, led by Eknath Shinde, announced an additional reward of Rs 1 million to identify Pahalgam terrorist attack suspects.

The news came in response to the release of photos of the three suspects by Jamu and Kashmir police, who announced a reward of Rs 2 million.

“We are firmly opposed to terrorism and those who support terrorism. We urge citizens to come up with any information that will help bring these culprits to justice.” “By increasing the amount of rewards, we aim to ensure that guilt is held accountable and serve the victims and their families.”

The Pahalgam terrorist attack has claimed 26 lives, mainly tourists, and the investigation is underway.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) in Maharashtra calls for a ban on tourism bans on Türkiye and Azerbaijan.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Maharashtra, aligns with the collective sentiment of the country and appeals to all its members as well as citizens of India to avoid going from tourism to Türkiye and Azerbaijan. This call for a voluntary ban is a response to recent geopolitical developments that have raised serious concerns about the security, safeguards and ethical considerations that support tourism in these regions.

“As responsible citizens and members of the medical community, we have a responsibility to reflect unity for the values and collective interests of the country. We urge all members to unite and discourage the tourism industry in Turkey and Azerbaijan and make our national principles contradictory.”
