Punjab: BSF in view of public safety

Border Security Force said on Thursday that it is ceased the daily evening ceremonial retreat ceremony held in Pakistan along all three border checkpoints in Pakistan in light of public safety. The move comes the second day after India destroyed nine terrorist bases and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) in Pakistan as a retaliatory measure against the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack. “As directed, no ceremonial performance will be held until the next order. According to their safety and security, the public will not be allowed to remain public.”
BSF forces are synchronized with Pakistan Rangers every night, JCPS in Amritsar, Wagah in Pakistan, Hussainiwala in Ganda Singh Wala and Sadki in Fazilka region.
Days after the Pahalgam attack, troops announced that the public ceremony would be held, but did not open the border gate between the BSF and the Rangers and the traditional hand.
