Punjab Expressway cuts Bathinda-Chandigarh for 50 km, details

The expressway will connect Chandigarh with Barnala, Malerkotla, Khanna Bypass, Sirhind and Mohali, enhancing connectivity in the region
From the Delhi Mumbai Expressway to the Delhi-Diladen Expressway, the Delhi-Amritza-Katra Expressway and the Ganga Expressway, a large network of expressways is being developed to accelerate the country’s growth.
Another ambitious project is the Punjab Expressway, which will be launched soon by the National Highway Administration of India (NHAI). The expressway spans 110 km, connecting Punjab to all parts of the country, strengthening its tourism industry and promoting development across the state.
The expressway will significantly improve the convenience of travel by reducing the distance to Chandigarh by 50 km, thus making the journey faster and smoother. Once completed, it is expected to promote economic growth in Punjab and attract more tourists to the region. This highway represents an important step in strengthening state infrastructure and connectivity.
The new highway will connect several important locations and will greatly benefit those who travel from Bathinda, Muktasar, Abohar and even Rajasthan to Chandigarh. The 50km reduction of the route between Bathinda and Chandigarh will make travel more convenient. The expressway will also improve regional connectivity by connecting Chandigarh to Barnala, Malerkotla, Khanna bypass, sirhind and Mohali.
The fact that the highway will be related to the economic corridor built between Ludhiana and Ajmer is one of its greatest benefits. As a result, there will be more trade and economic opportunities in the region.
In the past, travelers had to travel through Barnala, Sangrur and Patiala to reach Chandigarh from Bathinda. However, this new route will save time by allowing them to bypass Sangrur and Patiala and directly from Barnala to Chandigarh.
This important technology center can be improved by building dedicated roads connecting Barnala and Mohali IT cities. The Sirhind-Mohali Road is currently under development, and the route connecting Sirhind to Barnala will also begin construction soon.
As the Greenfield Expressway (built in areas without any previous road infrastructure), it is part of the Bharatmala project. The six-lane road currently being built between Bathinda and Ludhiana will also be connected to the highway.
Once completed, this new project will not only promote travel, but will also encourage economic expansion and enhance the overall infrastructure of Punjab.
In short, the new highway is a great development that can benefit locals and visitors through faster, simpler, and more efficient speeds.
