Punjab, Haryana rushes into the water, Himaal watch.

With the center of the Bhakra-nangal dam, a water-sharing war between Punjab and Haryana is intensifying, just as the northern states reach their peak demand in summer.The dispute broke out after Punjab refused to increase Haryana's water quota to 8,500 cusecs from April 23. Punjab claims Haryana has received 104% of its allocated share, while Haryana accused Punjab of seizing necessary necessary drinking water.
The Bhakra Beas Management Committee is responsible for overseeing the moisture distribution between Punjab, Haryana, Himaal Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan, and votes for Haryana's needs. Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan ruled by the BJP supported more water, and Punjab ruled by the AAP opposed it and abstained from Hima al bone.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann doubled, announcing that “more” will not be released. Haryana CM Nayab Saini announced that his government is preparing to move the Supreme Court and held a full party meeting in Chandigarh, with leaders across the spectrum supporting his position.

Meanwhile, Himaal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Sukhu observed that both states were fighting for water on the hills of Himaal Hill, highlighting the need for broader regional coordination. The bank reflects growing competition among countries for river resources amid warm climates and rising urban demand.
