Punjab Police Bust ISI Supported BKI Module, 13

New Delhi: Punjab police said on Saturday that it foiled a major attempt to undermine peace in the state by undermining two separate ISI-backed terror modules operated by Babar Harsa International (BKI). In a major breakthrough, police arrested 13 people, including minors, and captured a large number of weapons and explosives, two rocket grenades (RPGs), including launchers, two IEDs, grenades, RDXs and exquisite guns.

The Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said the modules emitted two intelligence-led operations in Jalandhar’s counter intelligence (CI) department and the regional police station in Batala. “These terrorist modules sponsored by Pakistan ISI are remotely controlled by BKI agent Satnam Singh Alias ​​Satta from France and Jaswinder Singh Alias ​​Mannu Agwan from Greece,” he said.

DGP added that Satnam Singh has a history of participating in terror-related cases, including the IED and RDX recovery incidents in 2010.
In addition to the RPG, police recovered two 2.5-kg RVs, two grenades with detonators, the 2-kg RDX with remote control equipment, five guns including Bereta and Glock models, six magazines, 44 cartridges, 44 cartridges, and a set of wireless communications. The three vehicles used by the suspect were also seized.

During the first operation, AIG CI Jalandhar Navjot Singh Mahal said the team arrested Jagroop Singh (Hoshiarpur), Jatinder Singh Alias ​​Honey (Kapurthala) and Harpreet Singh (Hoshiarpur). The investigation shows they are instructed by Satnam Singh in France.


After a week-long monitoring operation, the second module was destroyed in Batala. SSP Suhail Qasim Mir confirmed the arrests of nine people, including FIR, 17. Registered under the Illegal Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and carried out the Explosives Act at the SSOC Police Department in Amritsar and Batala. Police said more arrests may occur as the investigation continues.
