President Murmu, Vice President Dhankhar, Prime Minister Modi pays tribute to Ambedkar on 135th anniversary

President Droupadi Murmu, Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha spokesman Om Birla paid a flower tribute on the statue of Bhimrao Ambedkar in the parliament building on Monday (14 April 2025), marking his birth anniversary.
Sonia Gandhi, a senior leader of Congress, was the opposition leader of Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and the opposition leader of Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, also paid tribute on the Ambedkar statue. Their tribute was also attended by the union minister, MP and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

During this period, President Droupadi Murmu greeted people and said that Ambedkar’s contribution in various fields will continue to inspire future generations to devote himself to national construction.
In her message, she said that despite the great hardships and the global respect that has won him through his outstanding achievements, his identity has established a unique identity. The president said he believes that education is an important tool for social change and empowering the oppressed.

Prime Minister Modi paid tribute to Bhimrao Ambedkar on his birthday anniversary, which was inspired by his country’s commitment to the dream of social justice.
His principles and ideas will strengthen and accelerate the establishment of ‘aatmanirbhar’ PM Modi said on X (self-reliance) and developed India.
Ambedkar is recognized for his lifelong struggle for the ability to grant pre-determined castes and its key role in drafting the Constitution.
Born in the Dalit family in 1891, he was an outstanding student who continued to study abroad. The discrimination he suffered in Indian society made him a staunch social reformer. He is also India’s first legal minister.
