R Madhavan explains

Going to the cinema used to be a simple thing, popcorn on hand, Samosa in another, while the eyes are fixed on the big screen. But things have changed. Today, the trip to the movies is no less than the whole day of the mission, and according to actor R Madhavan, even the food becomes very dispersed.

In a recent chat with Indiatv, Madhavan revealed about the struggles the filmmakers face today. From changing audience tastes to cultural shifts and endless distractions, he said it has become increasingly difficult to get people’s attention to the theater.

“Popcorn or pani puri? This is a big decision”

Madhavan recalls the earlier days when the movie snacks were limited. “That day, when we went to the theater to watch movies, we didn’t have much choice in the food and beverage department. It was popcorn or samosa. But today, a huge decision has to be made there.”
He explained the long and arduous task of going to the theater. “You have to ride a vehicle, park, pay for the parking lot, be brave weather, guide your family safe, and there’s a smell of popcorn in the air before you get in, and I’m not even sure it’s fresh.”

Food menu and cell phone flash

That’s not all. In the lobby, movies don’t always get people’s attention, sometimes food menus.

“Suddenly, you see a flash of flashes because someone is reading the menu. Some even ordered Pani Puri and used their phone to figure out what their Pani is.” “We have to fight all of this to get your attention.” He joked that if the movie wasn’t exciting enough, things would get worse. “Parents start arguing about wasting money, and one of them rushes back to the parking lot to avoid the rush at the end. It’s almost painful… If your movie annoys them, they won’t forgive you.” After the test is successful, R Madhavan will appear in Kesari: Chapter 2, along with Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday. The film is scheduled to be released in cinemas on April 18.
