Sunil Gatade | Slippery @75: BJP, how to rewrite “exit rules” in RSS

Since the emergence of Narendra Modi in May 2014, the landmark age of 75 has become a deadly word in the BJP program.

With Mr. Modi becoming prime minister, the retirement doctrine at the age of 75 was invented and invoked to get rid of the advice of the Deadwood Party. It also shows that the party has come a long way compared to the times of Atal Behari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani.

Like the tagline of Dhirubhai Ambani’s “Vimal” brand, a woman expresses herself in many ways, and “Vimal” is just one of them – so is the command of the less-designated new leader: “The way to retirement home is 75”.

Senior leaders such as LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Shanta Kumar and BC Khanduri all fell on the roadside, with RSS allowed or forced to allow, a personalized cult that led to victory. The BJP has won a majority on its own for the first time under Mr. Modi’s leadership.

Although the retirement home is known as “Margdarshak Mandal”

The fact that “Mandal” has never seen before means that it is nothing more than forgotten.

Horse racing falls asleep after the days of glory; politically, there is no physical annihilation. After all, this is not Stalin’s Soviet Union, and this is a suggestion.

But the existence of the body still means everything is dark and there is a creepy silence. Only you know that you exist.

In a sense, this means that since the new leader appears, he will come with his team, so the elderly should give in. If they don’t do so, they will still be cut down. Rules are rules, and they are no exception. Yashwant Sinha might ask: How does “brain rot” occur at 75?

In September 2025, Modi himself has completed 75 years, so there are many topics and speculations about what will happen next? The truth is that in a political game, the retirement rules do not apply to top leaders regardless of the party. Leaders set rules for the benefit of others.

In this case, Mr. Modi visited RSS headquarters for the first time last month, and after nearly 11 years of helmsmanship, it shows a lot. This shows that Nagpur is already late and is no longer in the kennel, as previously speculated.

The highly-written interview did not show that Mr. Modi was in full command like the previous two terms. Politics is a game of signals and gestures because no one says anything except telling everyone with their actions.

Last January, RSS Superman was almost the deputy to Mr. Modi in Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir dedication, an opportunity for PM to make the most of his third term.

However, in Nagpur, the pictures are different. The RSS head receives PM with an equal attitude at home, even if it is not a superior. A powerful leader suddenly remembers the fact that his umbilical cord with Nagpur was not chaotic in the political space.

It’s all different for Mr. Modi to fail to win an absolute majority in the election in May 2024. Prior to the Lok Sabha poll, the political speech was that if Mr. Modi created a hat trick to secure a majority for the BJP, the head of the RSS could be the most vulnerable person in the dominance.

But fate would otherwise be willing, giving Mr. Bagwat more than a little bit of power.

However, this does not mean that Mr. Modi has been completely lost. The Prime Minister has a much higher reputation than any other leader of BJP and Sangh Parivar. “Since his Gujarat era, Mr. Modi knew that his bread was buttered. He served as Prime Minister during his ten-year tenure, including PM from Sangh Parivar. During Gujarat’s days, the RSS in the state has actually become “Modi RSS”.

Meanwhile, RSS did not send the well-known “Modi Baiters” to Sanjay Joshi, the leader of the BJP in the wilderness commemoration era. Again, he has not received much voice since Mr. Modi’s appearance.

The beauty of Lok Sabha’s 2024 verdict on RSS is that it once again gains much-needed space to influence the affairs of BJP. JP NADDA’s blunt speech in the Lok Sabha movement that the BJP no longer needs RSS for election work is intended to limit Sangh’s influence and suggests limiting it to ideology. Mr. Nada is more called Mr. Modi’s “yes” than the BJP president.

Mr. Bhagwat’s departure advice to BJP was destined to be wrinkled feathers after the Lok Sabha poll reflected that RSS could not be eliminated or ignored. As we all know, RSS volunteers work very hard in parliamentary polls in Haryana, Maharashtra and Delhi.

Talk about “after Modi, who?” After Nagpur’s visit, it was symptomatic and the strong leader was not that powerful. Devendra Fadnavis may have dismissed the topic of a new leader replacing Mr. Modi, who insists that “you are not retiring father”. The facts are not. Ten years ago, Mr. Advani was the father’s figure, and the views and opinions of the painful leader were completely, completely, completely ignored, as if he did not exist.

Even assuming that Shiv Sena (UBT) Sanjay Raut doesn’t know what’s going on inside BJP and RSS, the fact that Mr Modi visits Nagpur shows that his policy of candid recognition of his “my way or highway” has been pierced.

It is ridiculous to think that politics is a different goal, and it is ridiculous to think that the BJP has only one leader and the rest are just robots serving the leaders.

Everyone took his time and showed no ambition in this game. They are politicians. Even Manmohan Singh is a politician. Otherwise, he will never become a PM.

The next few days and months will show the “75” landslide number. A person cannot stay on the top of Mount Everest for a long time; this is a fact of life. By then, the performance of “Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai” will continue.
