Patty Morin, mother of murdered Maryland woman Rachel Morin, criticized Sen. Chris Van Hollen for traveling to El Salvador. The criticism comes after the conviction of Victor Martinez-Hernandez, an illegal immigrant of El Salvador, for being murdered and raped by Rachel Morin. Patty Morin, who was introduced as a “special guest” at a White House press conference, was confused and said, “I just don’t understand that.” She also accused Van Hollen of “little acknowledging” Rachel’s death while using taxpayer money to travel to El Salvador.
