U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Pete Hegseth said on Sunday that the U.S. will ensure “strong, prepared and credible deterrent” in the Indo-Pacific region, including throughout the Taiwan Strait. Hegss spoke with Gen Nakatani, saying in Japan: “The United States is committed to maintaining a strong, prepared and credible deterrent in the Indo-Pacific, including the entire Taiwan Strait.”
