Threatening life attack on Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro: Alleged attackers claim he plans to defeat Democratic leaders with sledgehammer

Authorities say a man faces charges after he broke into the Pennsylvania governor’s mansion late at night, blowing up huge injuries and forcing Governor Josh Shapiro, his family and guests to evacuate the building during Passover.

Firefighters put out the fire early Sunday morning and were not reportedly injured. Police said the suspect was arrested nearby later that day, identified as 38-year-old Cody Balmer.

According to court documents released on Monday, Balmer handed it to police, who told them that he planned to beat Shapiro with a small hammer if he found him.
Authorities say they are investigating how someone escapes police breaking into the governor’s residence in Harrisburg.

Plan an attack?

Pennsylvania Police Colonel Christopher Paris said the fire was a well-planned attack, but stressed that the investigation was still ongoing. Police said he had no motivation to offer possible. Police realized someone climbed over the fence and started hunting, but no one was found at first. POLICE alleges Balmer broke into the south of the residence, entered a room often used to entertain crowds and display art, and used a homemade burning device to fire. Police said two glass beer bottles containing gasoline were found. The fire caused a major damage to the room, burnt walls, tables, buffets, plates, plates and pianos. The doors and windows and the surroundings and windows were darkened.

Authorities said Balmer left for about a minute before he left and escaped the house.

Authorities said Balmer said after police received a call from a woman “former Paramore” that he admitted he faced charges of attempted murder, terrorism, aggravated arson and aggravated assault.

According to the police affidavit, Balmer walked from his home to the governor’s residence for about an hour and “accepted his hatred towards Governor Shapiro.” There is no reason.

According to online court records, Balmer has faced criminal charges over the past decade, including simple assault, theft and forgery. He was sentenced to probation for theft and forgery. Simple assault fees starting in 2023 seem to be unresolved.
