Opposition leaders visited Shubham Dwivedi’s family in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday (30 April 2025) and expressed their condolences.

After the meeting, Mr. Gandhi visited social media platform X, highlighting the need for emergency operations. “Today, I met Shubham Dwivedi’s family, who was struggling in the timid terrorist attack in Pahalgam and comforted them. In this sad time, the whole country stands with the families who have lost their loved ones.” He added that the opposition had expanded its full support for the coalition government and requested a special session of parliament to consider the matter.

During the visit, Mr. Gandhi was accompanied by Rajya Sabha’s deputy opposition leader and senior Congress leader Pramod Tiwari, who described the encounter as an emotional burden. “RahulJI Comfort the family. He further pointed out that the Congress party stood firmly with the families of the dead during a period of grief. “We demand the strictest action against terrorists and their handlers in Pakistan,” he said, adding that Mr Gandhi also supported the family’s call for the grant of Dwywiddie’s martyr status.
