Rahul Gandhi attends key meeting to appoint new CBI directors

New Delhi: Congressional leader and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi arrived at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to participate in the selection process for the next director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The coalition government appoints the CBI Director based on the recommendations of the three member committees. The committee is chaired by the Prime Minister and includes opposition leaders of Lok Sabha and the Chief Justice of India.

The committee convened a new CBI chief in an intentional appointment, a position considered a crucial position to ensure the independence and integrity of India's top investigative bodies.
