Minister of Finance attended the IMF-World Bank Conference during 11-day visit to Peru, Peru

New Delhi, Treasury Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will attend the community meeting and attend the IMF-World Bank spring meeting, along with other bilateral engagements, on Saturday, the Treasury said. Sitharaman will make an official trip on Saturday night.

The Treasury Secretary will also interact with senior CEOs of well-known fund management companies at a roundtable meeting with investors, and also hold bilateral meetings with CEOs of top information technology (IT) companies in San Francisco.

As part of her visit to the United States, she will give a keynote speech at the Hoover Institution on April 20 at the Stanford University. Sitharaman will also participate in an event where Indian diaspora in San Francisco and interact with Indian communities.
During his visit to Washington, USA from April 22 to 25, Sitharaman will attend the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Spring Meeting and the World Bank Spring Meeting, the Second G20 Secretary of the Finance Minister and the Governor of the Central Bank (FMCBG) Meeting (FMCBG) Meeting (FMCBG) Meeting, the Development Committee, the IMFC Plenary Meeting and the Global Sovereign Sovereign Sovereign Debt Circular Round Trip (GSDR).

Off the court, she will hold bilateral meetings with her colleagues from several countries including Argentina, Bahrain, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and the United States; in addition to meeting with the EU Financial Services Commissioner; President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB); President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB); and the first deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).


It said that during its visit to Peru from April 26 to 30, the Finance Minister will lead a delegation of officials from the Ministry of Finance and Business Leaders of India, highlighting the strengthening of bilateral economic and trade relations between the two countries. Starting a visit to Lima, Sitharaman is expected to visit Peruvian President Dina Boluarte and Peruvian Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianza, in addition to holding a bilateral meeting with Peru’s Minister of Finance and Economy; defense; energy and landmines; it said, interacted with local public representatives. During his visit to Peru, the Finance Minister will chair the India-Peru Business Forum meeting, attending the attendance of Indian and Latin American countries with renowned business representatives.

Given Peru’s importance in global supply chains for key minerals and precious metals, discussions during these participation periods are expected to explore greater pathways of cooperation in the mining industry, especially to strengthen resource security in India and promote value chain links between the two economies.

The Finance Minister will also participate in a community event in Lima where she will interact with Indian diaspora living in Peru.
