Several social media users shared a video, including Lok Sabha and opposition leaders of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming he visited Mata Vaishno Devi on the second day of Chaitra Navratri 2025.
However, the PTI fact-check investigation and found that the viral video actually dates back to 2021, when Rahul Gandhi visited the Mata Vaishno Devi temple. The video has nothing to do with Chaitra Navratri 2025 and has shared the wrong claims on social media. Claimon On March 31, Facebook users shared a videotape, which included Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming he visited Mata Vaishno Devi the next day of Chaitra Navratri.
The title of the post was originally in Hindi, and read: “Parliament member Rahul Gandhi and opposition leaders visited Mata Vaishno Devi on the day after Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi arrived in Chaitra Navratri. Earlier last year, Rahul Gandhi also visited Mata Vaishno devi.

The desk runs the virus video through the Invid tool and extracts multiple key frames. The desk found that multiple users have shared a keyframe with similar claims and such posts can be found here and here. To verify the claim, the table conducted a customized keyword search to find relevant data to confirm the claim by Virus Post. However, we found no credible reports confirming that Rahul Gandhi visited Mata Vaishno Devi during Chaitra Navratri 2025.
Additionally, the table found X (formerly Twitter) on the table of Rahul Gandhi on March 30, 2025, and he hopes everyone wishes everyone a happy Chaitra Navratri.
The title of the post reads: “I wish you all to celebrate Gudi Padwa, Chaitra Navratri, Ugadi, cheiraoba, cheti chand and sajibu! May this auspicious moment bring joy and happiness to your life, and be filled with peace and prosperity.”

In the next part of the investigation, the table ran the key framework of the viral video through a reverse image search and found the same video on Rahul Gandhi’s official YouTube channel on September 10, 2021.

At the 1:46 second timestamp, the table found the same visual effect as the viral video. Below is a combined image highlighting the similarity between viral videos and YouTube posts.
