Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma released new benefits and subsidies on Wednesday (26 March 2025), including a Rs 13.7 crore grant from 30,000 agriologists, as well as new agricultural schemes and livestock health care guidelines. Mr Sharma emphasized the welfare of small and marginal farmers to ensure progress in the state.

Mr. Sharma initiated new measures in Bikaner’s Farmers Conference and Farmers Producers Organization (FPO) program. In addition to the increase in Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi and the expansion of Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana, new guidelines have been issued to promote organic agriculture and expand the scope of the horticulture sector.

Mr. Sharma distributes checks to farmers as part of various welfare schemes and urges them to join the FPO to enhance their abilities through paid farming.

Food security

The chief minister said the hard work of farmers provides food security for India and helps the country become a leading agricultural force. “The farmers irrigate and protect crops in the hot sun, in the cold cold, in the heavy rain…their sacrifice and dedication are unparalleled,” he said.

Mr Sharma said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi, the state government has transferred Rs 14 billion to 7.2 million farmers, distributed short-term interest-free crop loans of Rs 29,000 crore to 4.7 million farmers, and issued Rs 3,000 crore insurance claims under Prime Minister Fasal bima yojjana and released Rs 3,000 crore insurance claims.

Mr Sharma also targeted Congress leader and former CM Ashok Gehlot, accusing him of focusing on social media posts rather than attending a budget meeting of the state legislature earlier this week. “It’s not enough to post headlines on social media. You have to know their pain and pain among the people,” he said.
