Madhya Pradesh: PM Modi announces Rs 12 lakh Gratia in Mandsaur accident, dead of 12 people

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the former Gratia of Rs 1.2 lakh, announcing 12 relatives for 12 people who died in an accident in Madhya Pradesh Mandeslong district on Sunday.Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) released on X, Prime Minister Modi expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and hoped to recover quickly from the injury. For the injured, a former Gratia of Rs 50,000 was also announced.
The PMO post reads: “It feels sad to lose your life in an accident in Mansal, Madhya Pradesh. Condolences to those who have lost loved ones. May the recovery of injury.
Police said the speeding van fell into a well after hitting a bicycle in the Mandeslong district on Sunday, leaving 12 people, including bicycle riders and rescue workers, the dead.

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also expressed grief over the deaths of 12 people killed in the Mandsaur accident and announced financial assistance to the deceased’s relatives.


In an article on X, CM Yadav announced financial assistance of Rs 2 million to the families of the deceased, each with severe injuries of Rs 50,000 per person. CM Yadav wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

He added: “I pray to Baba Mahakal to provide peace to the soul. During the sad hour, I pray that my family finds the power of great loss. I also pray for the quick recovery of the injured person.”

Earlier, Mandelsar Police Chief (SP) Abhishek Anand said in a conversation with ANI: “In an incident in the Narayangarh Police Department area, a van fell into a well and there were 14 people in the van.

According to SP, four people were successfully rescued from the well, but unfortunately 12 people were killed, 11 of them in the well, on the road.

Sp Anand added: “After all the bodies have been recovered and sent to the autopsy, some autopsy have been completed. Legal proceedings related to the case have also been secured.”

In an extraordinary act of bravery, local villager Manohar landed in a well for rescue. He saved six people, including two children, but failed miserably in the process. Police said his body has also recovered.

SP Anand expressed sympathy for the victim’s families, saying: “This is an extremely painful event and we express our deepest sympathy for the affected families. All necessary legal actions are being taken.”
