Ram Temple Trust has paid Rs 4 billion in taxes over the past five years

Ayodhya (UP): Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has paid the government about Rs 4 billion in taxes over the past five years, due to a surge in religious tourism, Champat Rai said on Sunday. He said the amount was paid between February 5, 2020 and February 5, 2025.

Of these, he said, the price was paid as Goods and Services Tax (GST) at Rs 270 crore, while the remaining Rs 130 crore was paid under various other taxes.

He said Ayodhya witnessed a tenfold increase in devotees and tourists, transforming it into a major religious tourism hub and bringing jobs to locals, adding that 126 million devotees visited Ayodhya during Maha Kumbh.
Last year, Ayodhya recorded 1.6 billion visitors and 5 crore rupees to visit the Ram Temple.

Rai added that the trust fund’s financial records are often reviewed by officials from the Auditor General and Auditor General (CAG).
