The additional city civil and convention court denied a bail request by actor Ranya Rao on Thursday (March 27, 2025), known as the main charges charged by the Bureau of Tax Intelligence (DRI) officials in the March 3 official.
CCH-64 LXIII Additional City Civil and Conference Judge passed her direct involvement and strong evidence in the racket after hearing the debate and objection from Ranya’s attorney.
Currently, Ranya is detained in the Palapana Agrahara Central Prison in Bangalore under judicial custody until April 7.
Ranya, 33, was arrested at Kenpegoda International Airport in Bangalore when she arrived from Dubai on March 3. DRI officials claimed she had covered up 14.2 kg of foreign-foreign gold bars worth Rs 1.256 crore. According to her cell phone and laptop analysis, officials arrested a Tarun Raju on March 9.
Meanwhile, DRI has sought time to file a bail application with Sessions Court at Sessions Court, which will object.
The court has adjourned the hearing on March 29 after DRI lawyers sought more time to file objections.
