Virat Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket, just weeks before India’s five Test trips in June. Kohli’s outstanding test career as one of the leading batsmen of his generation ended his outstanding test career.

Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri confirmed the report, suggesting that Virat Kohli consulted him before announcing his retirement from Test cricket earlier this year. Indian cricket idol ended his outstanding career in the longest game format, which lasted over 14 years. Shastri revealed that Kohli had made a decision before the conversation.

The former head coach of the Indian cricket team said that after the discussion, he firmly believed that Kohli’s choice to leave Test cricket was indeed timely and well thought out.

“I did talk to him, I think [his announcement] His thoughts are clear and he gave us everything. No regrets. I asked a question or two and it was a personal conversation, you know, he mentioned it clearly, without a doubt, which made me think, “Yes, the time is right”. The mind told his body that it was time to go. ” Shastri said in a chat with Sanjana Ganeshan in an ICC comment.

Shastri admires Kohli, saying he goes all out and will not regret looking back on his career.

“If he decides to do something, then he gives 100%, which is not easy to match,” Shastri said. “Single as a bowler, as a batsman. A player does his job, [and] Then you sit down. but [with Kohli] When the team goes out, it seems like he has to take all the wickets, he has to accept all the catches, he has to make all the decisions on the court.

“So much involvement, I think if he doesn’t take a break, if he doesn’t divide how much he wants to play in the format, then he’ll suffer burnout somewhere,” Shastri said.

Shastri said he thought Kohli could have continued to play cricket for two to three years, so his choice surprised him. But, officials of the cricketer-turned-official admit that Coley was in a mental exhaustion.

“Verat surprised me because I thought he had at least two years of test match cricket left on him. But when you’re mentally frying and cooked, that’s what tells you about your body. You might be the most suitable person in the business. You might be healthier than half of the team, but mentally you do a great job, like they do, they’ll say, it’s a message, and then you know, it’s a person.
